Amazon Q4 2026 UK Deadlines: How to Get FBA and AWD Stock Ready Before Peak

For established Amazon sellers, Q4 preparation starts before peak demand arrives.

Amazon’s published 2026 guidance gives UK sellers firm inventory arrival targets for Prime Big Deal Days and Black Friday Week. Inbound delivery-window slots may also be limited as fulfilment centres prioritise receiving during September and October, then customer order processing during November and December.

If your stock still needs inspection, FNSKU labelling, polybagging, bundling or carton preparation, September is the time to act.

Why September preparation matters

The deadline is not the date you start preparing stock.

It is the date Amazon expects the inventory to have arrived.

Before that point, you may still need to:

  • Receive stock into the UK.
  • Count and inspect units.
  • Match physical stock to the correct SKU.
  • Apply FNSKU labels.
  • Complete polybagging and warning-label requirements.
  • Build bundles or multi-unit packs.
  • Confirm carton dimensions and weights.
  • Create the Amazon shipment plan.
  • Book a carrier.
  • Allow time for transit, check-in and receiving.

Amazon has also warned that inbound delivery-window slots may be limited during the peak build-up. Fulfilment centre teams focus on receiving shipments in September and October, before shifting attention to customer order processing in November and December.

That creates a practical risk: a shipment can be fully prepared but still miss the commercial moment if the delivery window, carrier collection or inbound process is left too late.

FBA deadlines: Prime Big Deal Days and Black Friday Week

Prime Big Deal Days

For Prime Big Deal Days, Amazon’s UK guidance states that inventory should arrive at:

  • European facilities by 9 September 2026
  • UK facilities by 16 September 2026

For sellers preparing stock in the UK, the 16 September date is the key operational target.

If your stock is not yet ready, focus on the tasks that could prevent dispatch:

  • Incorrect or missing FNSKU labels.
  • Unapproved or incomplete bundles.
  • Cartons that do not match the shipment plan.
  • Missing polybags or safety warnings.
  • Stock that has not been counted against the expected quantity.
  • Carrier bookings made without sufficient transit time.

Amazon’s date is an arrival target, not a collection date. Work backwards from it.

Black Friday Week

For Black Friday Week, the published targets are:

  • European facilities by 21 October 2026
  • UK facilities by 28 October 2026

This is the more significant Q4 planning window for many sellers. It covers the period when demand, advertising activity and customer expectations can rise sharply.

Do not treat 28 October as the point at which preparation begins. Treat it as the final arrival target and set an earlier internal deadline for:

  1. Stock to arrive at your preparation location.
  2. Inspection and reconciliation to finish.
  3. Labelling and packing to be approved.
  4. Cartons to be sealed and documented.
  5. Carrier collection to take place.

For additional context, Amazon’s announcement states that deal submissions remain open until 23 September for Prime Big Deal Days and 18 November for Black Friday Week. Deal eligibility, stock availability and account requirements should be checked directly in Seller Central.

AWD deadlines: separate storage and replenishment planning

Amazon Warehousing and Distribution is now available in the UK. According to Amazon’s AWD announcement, sellers can use AWD for bulk storage and automated replenishment to FBA, subject to programme terms and eligibility.

The key Q4 AWD dates are:

  • Inventory must arrive at AWD by 7 October 2026.
  • Replenishment shipments from AWD to FBA must be created by 10 October 2026.

These are not the same as the FBA arrival dates.

AWD can support a stock-buffer strategy, but it does not remove the need for planning. Your team still needs to:

  • Decide which units belong in AWD.
  • Check product and programme eligibility.
  • Prepare compliant cartons.
  • Create the correct AWD shipment.
  • Allow time for transport and receiving.
  • Plan when replenishment should be created.
  • Review FBA availability rather than relying on assumptions.

Amazon has also stated that a storage-fee waiver for eligible inventory applies from 1 October to 31 December 2026. Other fees still apply, including relevant inbound processing, outbound processing and transportation charges. Sellers should check current eligibility and programme terms before making a decision.

FBM rules: do not confuse them with FBA inbound deadlines

Fulfilled by Merchant requirements are separate from FBA and AWD inventory arrival dates.

Amazon’s UK FBM update states that, from 30 September 2026, sellers should maintain a business-hour delivery rate of at least 90% for FBM shipments to Amazon Business customers.

From 30 October 2026, non-compliant listings may be deactivated for business customers if performance remains below the requirement.

Amazon also states that, from 1 September 2026, it may enable Automated Handling Time for SKUs whose stated handling time is at least one day longer than actual performance for more than 30 days.

This concerns FBM handling and delivery performance. It does not change the FBA or AWD inbound deadlines.

Review:

  • SKU-level handling times.
  • Carrier collection times.
  • Business-address delivery performance.
  • Weekend and bank holiday settings.
  • Account Health metrics.
  • Whether delivery promises match your actual operating process.

Protecting margin during peak fees

Amazon states that selected UK FBA festive peak fulfilment fees apply from 15 October 2026 to 14 January 2027.

Amazon’s published average figures are:

  • £0.12 per small or standard parcel item
  • £0.07 per large or extra-large envelope item

Amazon also states that the 1.5% fuel and logistics-related surcharge applies on top. These are Amazon’s published figures, not EASYADD pricing. Sellers should verify the current fee tables and confirm which products and fulfilment routes are included.

To protect margin, review each priority SKU rather than relying only on a blended average.

Check:

  • Selling price after discounts.
  • Referral fees.
  • FBA fulfilment fees.
  • Festive peak fees.
  • Fuel and logistics-related surcharges.
  • Storage charges.
  • Advertising spend.
  • Return rates.
  • Bundle preparation costs.
  • D2C fulfilment costs outside Amazon.

A clear stock split can also support control. For example, you may decide that some stock remains available for D2C orders while another quantity is prepared for FBA or AWD. The correct split depends on your sales data, lead times, product margins and operational capacity.
